Community Seed Collectors Network
Hometree is excited to launch our new Community Seed Collectors Network, with our first workshop taking place at the remarkable Oolagh rainforest site on the Iveragh Peninsula, led by FRM Coordinator Jeremy Turkington.
The workshop includes an online webinar on Thursday 1st October, 7:00–8:00pm, covering Atlantic rainforest ecology, native tree species and seed collection best practice. Once registered, we’ll send you the meeting link.
This is followed by a practical seed collection day at Oolagh on Thursday 8th October, 10:00am–3:00pm, where you’ll get hands-on experience identifying, collecting and processing native tree seed.
Please note: The field workshop takes place on rough, uneven terrain, including walking and scrambling over challenging ground. Sturdy footwear and suitable outdoor clothing are essential. Lunch is provided; please bring water and any snacks you need.
