Native Tree Nursery Network
Launching a new network for Ireland’s native tree nurseries
Across Ireland, a growing number of tree nurseries are propagating native trees and playing an important role in restoring local habitats and connecting people with nature.
But running a native tree nursery comes with its challenges. From seed collection and propagation to funding, stock management and community engagement. Many nurseries are tackling similar questions and challenges, often without a dedicated space to share knowledge and practical experience.
That’s why Hometree is launching the Native Tree Nursery Network.
The Network will bring together established native tree nurseries from across Ireland to share practical knowledge, support one another and build stronger, more sustainable nurseries.
The Network will focus on:
Growing native trees – sharing knowledge on propagation, horticulture and seed collection.
Supporting sustainable nurseries – sharing funding opportunities, resources, seed and tree stock.
Engaging communities – exchanging ideas and approaches for involving people in growing and restoring native woodlands.
The Network will connect through a dedicated WhatsApp group, regular nursery days hosted by members, and quarterly online sessions featuring nursery spotlights and Q&As.
Our vision
We want to grow this into a close, connected network of native tree growers across Ireland. This new network will be a place where knowledge is freely shared, practical challenges are tackled together, and nurseries can support one another to grow more and better native trees.
The Network is open to established nurseries already producing native tree stock.
