Team Building Nature Days

Join Hometree on our mission to establish and conserve permanent native woodland in Ireland, encouraging land regeneration and biodiversity. Your business will be involved in actively making a difference, helping with long term positive impact to Ireland's biodiversity.

Ireland is one of the most nature depleted countries in Europe. We rank lowest in Europe for tree cover, and 90% of our EU-protected habitats are in 'unfavourable' conservation status. We’re also one of the least nature-connected populations in the world. Changing this needs everyone.

Hometree’s Nature Impact Days transform corporate and organisational sustainability goals into real-world, measurable climate and biodiversity action. Designed for forward-thinking teams, our immersive experiences bring people out from behind the screen and into nature - where climate solutions take root. This isn’t a tick-box ESG exercise. It’s hands-on, high-impact engagement that connects your people to a bigger purpose.

This will be a day to roll up the sleeves, put on your wellies and get your hands dirty. We take pride in helping everyone to discover tasks they can engage in and ensuring everyone feels at ease in Nature. This day is a day for all. Engage in a diverse array of tasks that change with the seasons and align with the specific requirements of each site. By the day's end, you and your team will see the physical difference you have made to the site and likely be feeling it too. Through education and the promotion of greater awareness, we look to provide a fresh perspective on nature conservation and restoration in Ireland, inspiring a more meaningful connection to our natural environment.

Nature Impact Day Activities

From planting seeds and trees, to understanding how ecosystems exist and connect - our experienced facilitators will lead your team in a day of learning coupled with hands-on climate action.

  • Take a walk in the woods or along hedgerows to collect native tree seeds such as hawthorn, blackthorn, hazel and oak to help grow Ireland's native forests

  • Participate in an ecological site tour where we’ll walk through the land together and explain how the space is being regenerated

  • Step inside our poly tunnels and germinate seeds, pot seedlings, prepare beds for seeds and saplings

  • Clear away growth and mulch around saplings planted in their permanent habitat

  • Build and maintain leaky dams and bridges

  • Guided mindfulness in nature

  • Climate hope conversations

And of course plant a tree or two with us in the winter months!

Your team leaves with:

  • A tangible, measurable climate contribution

  • A deeper understanding of biodiversity and climate resilience

  • Stronger team cohesion through shared purpose

  • A renewed sense of wellbeing from time spent in nature

  • Authentic content for internal and external communications

  • A credible sustainability story backed by long-term woodland restoration

And importantly - they leave energised, connected and inspired.

Testimonials

“Sending a huge thank you for organising our Volunteer Day at your Avoca site. The facilitators were incredible and everyone in attendance was blown away by their knowledge and expertise. We all came away from the day with an abundance of knowledge about our native Irish forests and with a wonderful sense of calm after spending a full day out and about in nature.”

- Helen Monahan, Operations Manager, 4th August 2023

"Everyone enjoyed it immensely and it was a wonderful way to spend a day, the perfect mix of reflection and action! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and time with us."

- Ailve McCormack, 14th June, 2023

“We're very grateful for our relationship with Hometree. We take our staff and students onsite twice a year to spend a day getting in touch with nature, getting our hands dirty and getting to know one another on a deeper, more meaningful level. The team at Hometree do an incredible job facilitating the day. It's impactful, fun and physical. I'd happily recommend partnering with Hometree to any business seeking out staff bonding opportunities, particularly if they have an interest in environmental issues, biodiversity and/or the climate crisis.”

- Karl Dowling, Chief Operating Officer, 24th March, 2023
